Hiking & Walking

Hotel Innerhofer is situated in a quiet location on the panoramic hillside, right at the entrance to Schenna. If you would like to leave your car behind and enjoy a walking trip, you can catch a bus at the nearby bus stop.

The bus line runs very frequently throughout the day and takes you to Meran, as well as to a number of lift facilities in the surrounding area, which lead to the most beautiful hiking areas in the Meraner Land

This makes Hotel Innerhofer, despite its quiet location, the ideal starting point for many hiking trips into the area.

Discover the variety of panoramic trails, numerous forest and meadow paths leading through the valley, as well as the mountain region.

From the first days of Spring to late Autumn, the atmospheric trails leading along the irrigation channels offer you great far-reaching views towards the mountains and across the Etsch Valley. ‘Waalwege‘ which are relatively flat trails running along the old irrigation channels of the mid-range mountains, were used by farmers throughout the centuries to water their fields. Today, they are simply beautiful flat-levelled hiking trails with great views into a varied cultural landscape.

Walking on the Waalweg

Some of the most popular trails around Schenna are the Schenna Waalweg, the Mais Waalweg, the Marling Waalweg, as well as the Tappeinerweg and the Gilf promenade.
